Title: The CAMELS and DREAMS projects
Abstract: I will describe the CAMELS and DREAMS projects, designed to combine machine learning with very large suites of state-of-the-art hydrodynamic simulations to improve our knowledge about cosmology, galaxy formation, and the properties of dark matter. I will present some of the results the community has obtained using these simulations.
Speaker Bio: Francisco (Paco) is a research scientist at the Simons Foundation in New York City and a visiting research scholar at Princeton University. He did his Ph.D. at the Instituto de Fisica Corpuscular in Valencia, Spain. After completing his Ph.D. he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Astronomical Observatory of Trieste, Italy, and a Flatiron research fellow at the Center for Computational Astrophysics in New York. Later, before going to Princeton University as an associate research scholar.
