Revealing the mystery of the M87 jets
The work
Abstract
The jet formation around compact objects is investigated. The outflows generated within the magnetospheres of the Kerr black hole are calculated and showed that parabolic magnetic field flux surfaces can produce emission maps matching those observed from the M87 jet, which both agree on one fact: the dominant mechanism for the jet launching is the Blandford-Znajek mechanism.
