Abstract

At z=0, the total number and total mass of globular cluster (GC) systems correlate with the dark matter halo mass, the total galaxy stellar mass, and the black hole mass of their parent galaxies. In particular, the GC correlations with the total galaxy stellar mass and the black hole mass are consistent with a coevolution fueled by internal processes, rather than mergers. Compared to these correlations, black holes at very high-z appear quite overmassive, so it is of great interest to chart the evolution of said correlations. I am working on deriving the correlation between globular cluster systems and their parent galaxies in JWST observations of galaxy clusters at z=0.4 and z=1. At z=0, GCs can be identified based on their light concentration and their optical and near infrared colors, but at z=0.4 and z=1 the GC stellar populations are less evolved ,and the JWST filters pick up different population features. Using AI tools, I will look for the best diagnostics of GC candidates at these redshifts leveraging JWST data.
